Quinoa... A complete food..!!

Quinoa is almost a type of grains like barley and farro,but it is more beneficial than other grains. Quinoa was known as the mother of all grains and for the first time, it was cultivated over 5000 years ago. 
It is considered to be a whole grain, Quinoa is actually a seed but it can be prepared like whole grains like rice or barley.

Quinoa can be your favorite grain for these two reasons:-
  • Firstly it take less time to cook than other whole grains.
  • Secondly quinoa tastes great on its own, unlike the other grains such as millet or teff.
Finally of all the whole grains, it has the highest protein content. That’s why it is perfect for vegetarian and vegans. Quinoa provides all 9 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. It is cholesterol free whole-grain. According to calorie count 1/3 cup of quinoa has calories-160 gm, fat-2.5 gm, fiber-3gm and protein 6gm. So it is justified that quinoa is a low-fat and low-calorie grain.
