Soothes Your Dry Skin With These Home Made Remedies..!!!

In winters, everyone often complaining about the dry skin. Cold dry winter sucks the life out of the smooth and silky skin. The other factors of dry skin can be the aging, nutritional deficiencies.

Nowadays there are varieties of lotions and moisturizers are available in the market to combat dry skin, but most of them come with a higher price tag. So why not go with some natural home remedies which are not only cheap ,but also quite effective in nourishing and hydrating the skin in a natural way. 

Here are the top ten home remedies for Dry skin:-
  • Olive Oil:- As we know that olive oil contains antioxidants and fatty acids which are good for our skin. It is best to soothe and condition the dry skin. 

Let's see how can we use it-
- Dab a thin layer of olive oil under your regular moisturizers.
- Before taking shower apply olive oil all over your body and after    the bath apply gentle moisturizers.
- Mix two teaspoon of olive oil with the brown sugar and one teaspoon of honey. Rub this home made remedy over your dry skin and wash it after some time.


  • Milk Cream:- Milk cream contains lactic acids which help to exfoliate the dry skin. It also helps in preserving the pH levels of delicate skin. It's known as a great moisturizer. 

- Take one tablespoon of milk and 2 tablespoon of milk cream add some lemon juice with it. Rub it on over your body and leave it for a while, after that rinse it off with lukewarm water. During winters do this daily.
- Add enough milk cream to three to four tablespoon of gram flour to make a thick paste.Apply the paste on your face, hands and legs. Leave it on for 15mins and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.  


  • Milk:- It has the anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that can help get rid of dry and itchy skin. Apart from it the lactic acid in milk exfoliates the dead skin cells and increases the skin's ability to retain moisture. It also helps to lighten the complexion. 

- Soak a cloth in the cold milk and put the cloth over the face for 5 to 7 minutes, soak a cloth in the lukewarm water and rinse it off with that. In this way this natural moisturizers will remain on your face all day long. 
- Take four tablespoons of milk and add some rose water with it. Rub this solution all over your body. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.


  • Honey:- Honey is considered as one of the best natural moisturizers. It contains antioxidants, antimicrobial, and humectant properties. It helps to lock moisture in our body and makes it extra smooth and soft. 


- Rub it all over the body before bath and leave it for 10 minutes. Apply daily for the best results.

  • Yogurt :- It contains excellent hydrating agents and lactic acid which help in get rid of germs and bacteria that may cause itchiness and dryness.  
      
-     Before bath apply fresh yogurt on your body, leave it for 10 minutes and then take the shower. The mild exfoliating  nature of yogurt will remove dry skin and leave your skin refreshed all day. 
- Mix one cup of yogurt with the mashed papaya and stir few drops of lemon juice and honey with it. Apply it on your face and leave it for ten minutes, rinse it off with cold water. Do this once a week for the better result.

  • Coconut Oil:-  coconut oil is considered as a great moisturizer for the dry skin. It contains good amount of fatty acid that make up for any loss of moisture from the skin. 

- Apply the hot coconut oil over your body before going to bed. Wash it off in the morning. Do it daily for a soft and smooth skin.  

  • Avocado:-  It is packed with fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that help improve the skin from inside. Avocado helps in repairing the skin and restore the smoothness of skin.
- Mash the pulp of avocado into a smooth paste. Rub the paste all over your dry skin. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.



- Mix the ripe avocado with honey and apply the mixture on all over your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Apply this hydrating face mask at least once in a week.

  • Oatmeal:-   You can't only eat oatmeal but you can also use it for the goodness of your skin as well. It helps to moisturize and relieve dry skin. The high protein content of oatmeal leaves a protective barrier on the skin, which prevents water loss and helps maintain moisture. 

-While bathing pour one cup of plain oatmeal into your bathtub filled with warm water. You can add a few drops of lavender oil in it if you want for the smell. Soak yourself in the bathtub for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy this soothing bath once in a week. 
- You can also go for a face mask. you just need to add one mashed banana with one cup of ground oatmeal and then adding a little bit of lukewarm milk. Apply this smooth mixture on your dry skin and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. Use this mask once in a week for a smooth and silky skin.

  • Almond Oil:- It is an excellent source of vitamin E and that is why it is considered as emollient and lubricator for the dry skin. The almond oil is nongreasy so it is easily absorbed in the skin. 

- Warm up the oil and massage your body lightly with it for half an hour before taking your bath. After taking bath apply some gentle moisturizer all over your body.
- Before going to bed drink a glass of milk mixed with almond oil.
- Those who are allergic to almond must not use any home remedies of it. 

  • Aloe Vera:-  It Contains soothing, antiseptic, and antifungal properties that can help combat dry skin. This simple remedy will moisturize your skin and form a protective layer that will keep your skin free from any kind of impurities. 

- Cut and open a fresh aloe vera leaf and squeeze the gel out of it.
- Apply the gel on your dry skin and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse it off with lukewarm water.
